Rachel Foxwell draws upon observations of coastal landscapes and takes inspiration from both vintage and modern objects to create a range of unique, handcrafted ceramic vessels.

A stand-alone vessel adds individuality and elegance to any interior. A group of vessels unite through colour, scale and movement to create a feature - a defined space of absolute contemporary beauty, that will capture the observer's attention and imagination.

The vessel exterior sees subtle graduations of hues spliced with highlights of bold colour that seem to flow freely around the vessel and contrast with the interior's singular, solid and bold colour. Every shade introduced to the vessel compliments the others to create a contrast and a correspondence in the same instant.

Observers are invited to touch the vessel and explore its different textures. The noticeable contrast of the smooth and rough exterior with the gloss interior demand the observer to do more than purely observe.

Rachel's range of stunning vessels created from slabs of earthenware clay are simple yet contemplative. They offer a new, exciting and unique interpretation to the lifeless vase that relies upon its contents to provide interest.

Rachel works from her studio in Bristol and her work is sold in galleries around the UK and a small number of craft fairs. Information on where to view the full range and how to purchase can be found here.
